Farewell to a Legend: Last Chrysler 300C Rolls Off
On December 8, 2023, the last Chrysler 300C, a Velvet Red 2023 model, rolled off the assembly line at the Brampton Assembly Plant in Ontario, marking the conclusion of its production. The Brampton team gathered to celebrate the end of an era for the HEMI®-powered vehicle.
The 2023 Chrysler 300 will see its final production by December 31, 2023. The 6.4L HEMI-powered 2023 Chrysler 300C, announced at the 2022 North American International Auto Show, pays homage to the nearly 70-year legacy of the Chrysler 300. Reservations for the special edition were fulfilled within 12 hours of its 2022 reveal, with a limited production run of 2,000 units in the U.S. and 200 in Canada.
Having made its debut in 1955 and making a comeback in 2005, the Chrysler 300 has been an emblem of American luxury and bold design. The 300C, dating back to the 1957 Chrysler 300C with its 392-cubic-inch HEMI engine, played a pivotal role in the lineup. The 2023 Chrysler 300C, equipped with a 6.4L 392-cubic-inch HEMI engine boasting 485 horsepower and 475 lb.-ft. of torque, accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in 4.3 seconds, covers the quarter-mile in 12.4 seconds, and reaches a top speed of 160 mph.
Chris Feuell, Chrysler brand CEO, expressed pride in the legacy of the Chrysler 300C as an iconic American muscle car and emphasized the brand's commitment to an all-electric future as part of the Stellantis Dare Forward 2030 strategic plan.
The 2023 Chrysler 300C features red four-piston Brembo brakes, a 3.09 limited-slip differential, active damping suspension, and a distinctive tri-color 300C badge. The exterior showcases black chrome accents, black headlamp and taillamp bezels, while the interior boasts black Laguna leather front seats with an embossed 300C logo.
Alex Pittas, Brampton Assembly Plant manager, commended the workforce for their dedication to producing high-quality vehicles. The Chrysler 300's automotive legend spans decades, from its breakthrough in the 1950s to the present day, with various models leaving an indelible mark on the industry.
As Chrysler commemorates the end of the HEMI-powered 300C production, the brand looks forward to a future characterized by innovation and sustainability, with plans to launch its first battery-electric vehicle in 2025 and an all-electric portfolio in 2028.
